dati ayaw ko kay gilbert teodoro, pero nang pinakinggan ko lahat nang presidentiable, nag bago ang isip ko, dahil napaka galing niya siya ang pinaka magaling sa lahat nang presidentiables and now im a new convert to gilbert teodoro! i will campaign for him and my goal is to convince at least 3 -5 people a day to vote for him until the election!

Guys, It should be a concerted effort and nothing more important is to be positive and find this calamity as a rallying point that could bring us together into working out with the nat’l local government & NGO’s. No amount of bickering and pointing fingers at anybody would help bring out the solution. Afterall, No man is an island and the government needs us for support.. Do we even have a law on disaster risk reduction and management bill? Wala. The bill has been pending there since Ondoy knows when.
As the NDCC chair, it is his main job to oversee that a clear and doable framework is in place to cushion the damages that these disasters could cause.
13 rescue boats for a metropolis with 19 million people? That is very embarrassing for a sovereign country like ours.

What NDCC has done on disaster preparedness is not enough. My family is one of the many affected by this flood. We lost TWO family members because rescue did not reach them in Provident Village. So dont have the gall to tell me that this is the best that this lame government could do because if it is, it is a useless government.
So why use “Disaster Preparedness”?? to make us aware that we have to prepare.. it didnt say that we are already prepared. it suggests that we have to prepare. simple.
we are always free to argue but we hope that at least we have done something to help out. peace out to everyone

this is exactly the point. it never said the government has all the necessary equipments. we have to understand that this is the best we can do given our lack of helpful equipments. rescue boats were used for sure. evac centers were there. kulang? yes. but the point is, the people and the government are trying its best to address the situation like it should.
So why use “Disaster Preparedness” if we are not prepared for disasters like these? FYI, Teodoro’s job as NDCC chair is not only awareness but most importantly
1) establish a early warning signal for disasters like these
2) involve the community and LGU to be prepared
3) make sure that rescue boats and evacuation centers are available

the reason for the ad is to make people aware of what we should be ready for. It gave practical solutions that we can all have. the idea is to make us prepare ourselves. besides, no government can be ready for what had happened. Even america wouldnt be too ready for that.
